Rehearsal Parcel on Hipobuy: four steps and two binding rules
What the paid trial packing is, how Hipobuy's own guides walk through it, and the points its pages leave open, read on 16 October 2026.
The service Hipobuy launched in August 2025
Hipobuy announced the Rehearsal Parcel as a new value-added service in a notice whose id dates it to 18 August 2025 (release notice). The notice says it lets you calculate the package's weight and dimensions in advance, so the shipping cost is accurate before you submit the parcel. It lists three benefits, reproduced in the crop below, and a single practical note: the rehearsal is usually completed within 24 hours.
Two guides followed: "How to Submit Rehearsal Parcel" (submit guide) and "How to Use Rehearsal Parcel" (use guide). They describe the same four steps, one with desktop screenshots and one with mobile screenshots, and both end with the same two notes. Neither guide gives a date for the result to expire, says whether the fee is refundable, or explains "easy cancellation" in the benefit list.

Step one: choose the items in your warehouse
Open the Warehouse page in your account. Each stored order shows its warehousing date, quantity, inbound weight in grams, dimensions in centimetres, status and commodity type, plus the regular inspection photos. Tick the items you want packed together and press "Rehearsal Parcel" at the bottom bar, next to "Create Parcel". Only items you select are rehearsed; anything left unticked stays in storage on its own 90-day clock.
In Hipobuy's desktop screenshot the selected order weighed 500 g at 12 x 12 x 4 cm when it came in. That is the figure the parcel estimate would start from. Note the "Return" countdown on each order as well: the five-day return window runs from warehousing, so returns are best settled before you rehearse.

Step two: address, packing method, preferred line and the fee
The next page asks for the shipping address, the packing details and a preferred shipping line, then shows the rehearsal service fee next to a Confirm button. In the mobile screenshot the packing method is set to carton packaging and the fee is displayed in US dollars, because the account displays prices in USD; the fee itself is fixed in yuan.
The packing method is the choice that matters most here. Hipobuy's guides say plainly that packing affects the weight and that the packing method cannot be changed once the rehearsal is completed. Decide how you want the parcel packed before you pay, not after you see the number.
The preferred line is optional in the screenshot and the result list later shows a dash where no line was chosen. Choosing one does not commit you to it; you pick the line again when you pay shipping.
Below the line field sits a Remarks box. It is the place for a packing request the menu does not cover, such as keeping a shoebox or leaving it out. Hipobuy does not say how remarks are handled, so treat them as a request rather than a setting, and check the result for whether it was followed.

Step three: the wait, usually under a day
After payment the rehearsal appears in the Rehearsal Parcel list as "Pending Processing", with a rehearsal ID that starts with N and the submission time. Hipobuy says the warehouse completes the rehearsal within 24 hours and asks you to be patient.
The list has tabs for all parcels, waiting to submit, waiting for payment and pending. In the desktop version, one entry in Hipobuy's own screenshot reads "Canceled", which shows that a rehearsal can end without a result; the guides do not say what happens to the fee in that case.
Plan the day around it. If your items have only a few days of free storage left, or you are racing a peak-season backlog, the extra day may cost more than the information is worth.

Step four: read the weight and size, then pay shipping
When the rehearsal is done, open the Rehearsal Parcel page and view the result. The desktop list has columns for the preferred line, weight in grams with dimensions in centimetres, packing details and state. Confirm the result and you pay the international shipping fee based on it. That is the point of the exercise: the line price is now applied to a measured weight instead of an estimate.
Read both numbers. The weight tells you which step you are in. The dimensions tell you whether a line that charges by volume will bill the parcel at a higher weight than the scale shows, and whether the box is near any line's size limit. If you would rather ship on a different basis, you can still walk away from the result and submit the parcel normally.

The two rules that bind you after the result
Both guides end with the same pair of notes, cropped below from the "How to Use" guide. The first locks the packing method once the rehearsal is completed. The second is your exit: if you do not want to submit the package based on the result, you go back to My Warehouse and either pick the items once more and order a fresh rehearsal, or skip it and submit the parcel as usual.
Read together, they mean a rehearsal is a measurement of one specific combination of items and one packing method. Change the combination and you need a new measurement. Whether a second rehearsal costs another 20 CNY is not written down; the fee is described as fixed per Rehearsal Parcel, which suggests each new rehearsal is charged.

What Hipobuy's pages do not say about the fee
Five practical questions have no written answer on the pages this site read. Put them to customer service first; the guides give [email protected] as the address.
The most important for the break-even sum is the last one on the card: whether a rehearsed parcel is still settled after packing. If Hipobuy packs exactly the rehearsed parcel, there should be nothing left to settle, but no page says so. This site therefore treats the rehearsal as buying certainty about the weight, not as a guarantee that no top-up can follow.
If you get a written answer to any of these, keep it with your order. A screenshot of a customer service reply is the only record you will have if a rehearsed parcel is later charged differently from its result.
